We have treated many of your neighbors from Thorndale for years and are eager to help you and your family.

If I need urgent care in Thorndale, how much will it cost me?

Your insurance carrier determines the costs and fees you must pay at our urgent care center. Most insurance cards have this fee printed directly on them next to the emergency room fee. Most of the time, an urgent care fee will be much less than an emergency room fee. We are confident it will be far more cost-effective to visit our urgent care center than a Thorndale emergency room. There may be additional costs if you need diagnostic services, like lab work or an X-ray. We will review with you any expected fees before we begin any treatments. Prices for visits that do not include being seen by a doctor are usually less.

Can I receive immediate care and treatment at your walk-in clinic if I am uninsured in Thorndale?

We have competitive and discounted self-pay rates for those without insurance. Your final bill will depend on what services are needed at our clinic. The self-pay fee to see a doctor at our clinic is $125. Our staff will review with you all costs before we begin treatment and provide you with a full report of your visit for your records.

Do you have to pay for treatment or services at your walk-in clinic?

Payment must be made in full before any treatment or evaluations start. We are not a free clinic at AFC Urgent Care Downingtown. Check with the local health department to see if there are any free clinics near you.

If I am looking for urgent care services near Thorndale, what can I expect from your urgent care center?

We can treat any of our Thorndale neighbors for various common illnesses and injuries. Many of the ailments you would rush to the emergency room for or wait days to see your primary physician to treat can be handled at our walk-in urgent care center. You can receive immediate care for sprains, strains, cuts, lacerations, and fractures. Fractures that include the bone piercing the skin (which is life-threatening) and grade 3 sprains and strains should be seen in an emergency room or by a specialist. Simple fractures and minor to moderate strains and sprains are injuries we see daily at our clinic. We also often treat upper respiratory infections and the flu with ease. A visit to our urgent care center is a fraction of the cost compared to the ER. You will be in and out quickly without spending the hours you usually would in an emergency room. Top-notch treatment is available to you every day of the week and is only a short drive from Thorndale.

Our urgent care center in Downingtown is also equipped with an onsite lab and X-ray. You do not need an appointment to use any of these services. (Please call ahead for any lab work as some tests are not available towards the end of the day.) Do not wait for your primary care doctor to give you a referral to go elsewhere for a test and come in today. We will review the test results with you and send you home with a copy. Results can be sent to your primary care doctor upon request.

Are you looking to get tested for COVID-19 or COVID-19 antibodies in the Thorndale area? We offer coronavirus testing at our urgent care center. All sample collections are conducted in a room separate from all other rooms at our clinic or curbside. We follow all CDC guidelines to keep our staff and patients safe. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, please call ahead.

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life.
